Running thru life... Quotes to spend some time with

This weekend I took on a bathroom painting adventure which will be a future blog.
After finishing, Joe and I decided that the art work we had in there previous was just not what we wanted any more.

So we started thinking about what we could place in there....
Art work
Pictures
Decals

We turned to the idea of decals because it is not something we have done in our house and it something that I have wanted to do so this would be a good way to experiment.

That being said I went to the internet searching for a couple quotes that I personally love......
I figured quotes would be good mentally while you are in the bathroom doing whatever men do that takes so long...

So here are some of our options

The road less traveled by.... by Robert Frost
This is my favorite poem for may reasons.
The walls are red so we are thinking of having it done in a white...

  Or....
The Moments of life....
Of course my husband would find humor putting this in a bathroom for reasons I will not mention.

or
(it will not let me copy the picture because of a copyright!!)

So what are your thoughts.....
I am having a hard time deciding....

Running thru life... GOOD LUCK

Right now my hubby is sitting in his PhD qualifier!
Nerves having been on high for about two weeks.

I totally understand as I have had to take a similar test like this twice-
once for my RN and then again for my CNM.

So todays blog is short and sweet:
GOOD LUCK!!!
Just remember you are smart and you will do well.
And always pick answer C (nerd joke!)

Love you

Running thru Life... Fun at Wolf Trap

Being together a couple years now Joe and I have some traditions- most of them revolve around the holidays but there are a couple that are very near and dear to us.
One of the top ones being the Gipsy Kings Concert every summer.

It was more than 6 years ago that Joe and I had our first date.
Chipotle followed by the Gipsy Kings Concert.

This was a date Joe planned and I just went along for the ride.
It was so much fun.

As a result we have  been to see the Gipsy Kings every summer since.
Sometimes it has just been the two of us but over the years we have multiple people join us.

2005-Chipotle and Gipsy Kings in Baltimore
2006-Gipsy Kings at Wolf Trap on the Lawn- just the two of us.
2007-Gipsy Kings at Wolf Trap on the Lawn- my mom and me- Joe had a last minute business trip- he was there in spirit
2008-Gipsy Kings at Wolf Trap on the Lawn- Me, Joe and My mom
2009-Gipsy Kings at Wolf Trap on the Lawn- Neighbors in tow
2010-Gipsy Kings at Wolf Trap on the Lawn- Neighbors in tow
2011-Gipsy Kings at Wolf Trap on the Lawn- Lots of neighbors in tow

Last night we headed out to see them for our 7th time!!!
We had blanket, picnic baskets, and yummy food in tow.
I will be blogging later about a new recipe I tried.
We had a great time and great company.

So we will wait till next Feb/March for Wolf Trap to release next summers dates.
=)

Running thru life... A calcium snack!

One night this summer I was craving something sweet-
I sent my hubby to the kitchen with only one word of guidance...
chocolate!!!

Minutes later he returned with a Chocolate Milk Shake.
I was in heaven!!!

This is now my favorite summer time Calcium treat!
2 scoops of Non Fat or Low Fat Vanilla Ice Cream
4-6 ounces of 1% milk
Hershey low fat chocolate sauce

We split one so it is just a small treat!
I have rationalized that I can not feel bad about this treat because it helps with me getting additional calcium which all women need!

Running thru life.... Happy Thoughts

In less than 4 days my husband will

1) Hear the final word of if his project at work will be funded for next year (i.e increase the likelyhood of him keeping his current job)

2)Sitting for his PhD Qualifier.  (i.e if he will be able to continue his quest to get his PhD- it is either pass or fail)

To say he is stressed out would be a total understatement.
Two major things in less than one week.
I would be a nervous wreck and to be honest he is handling it well.
Don't get me wrong- I think this is probably the most stressed I have even seen him,
but he still looks calm to an average person.

For those of you who do not know my husband- I have it good!
He is my calm when I am stressed, a happy when I am down.
He can just make anything ok!
So this week it is about him-
making sure he studies, he sleeps, he eats well, taking care of Clemson as much as I can,
and avoid stressing him out!
=0)  Yes wives can stress their husbands out just a little
So keep him in your thoughts over the next week.

Running thru life... a Rainy Day Project

I headed to HomeGoods last weekend to find a new pasta strainer because ours has gone to the big trashcan in the sky.  While I was at HomeGoods I found something that I have been looking for but have given up on finding.

A new silver/drawer organizer!!!

I was looking for one to fit our drawer in the kitchen because the one we have was a hand me down that does not really fit our silverware or the drawer.  However, I wanted one that you can adjust- not only can you adjust the container itself but you can also move the silverware holder sections- SOLD!!!.  I found one a couple months ago but was not willing to pay $25+ dollars at Crate and Barrel.  So I decided it just was not meant to be.

Until Yesterday!!!
I quickly snatched it up, paid my 11$ and headed home.
Drawer before....

 10 minutes later.

I was even able to add some extra things because with the organization- I had more room!!!!

Happy Rainy Day find!!

Running thru life... Lighting

Joe and I decided on the lights we wanted for both the guest bathroom and our bathroom.
So while researching one day I stumbled upon some coupons for the
Lamp Factory Outlet in Fairlakes.
I was in Heaven!!!

So I marched in Saturday coupon in hand to by the two lights for our room...
I saved $20 bucks!!!
So happy!!!

I think my husband's answer was.... "Only you could find a coupon for this!"

So I printed off two and will be going back next week to get the light for the guest bathroom.
I have budgeted this project to buy 1 item a credit card statement that way it is spread out over a course of three months.
(The Mirrors I bought in July,
Lights for our room in August,
and Lights for the guest bathroom in September.)
Projects to be done end of September/Early October

We decided to go with this for the guest bathroom but we will be flipping it the other way so the lights hang down.

With using a gift card for amazon.com to get the chandelier, and now coupons to get the lights at the Lamp Factory Outlet we are going to come in under budget which makes me happy =0)

Happy Shopping.
