Running thru life... Don't Drink the Water

Don't Drink the Water!!!!

The pregnancy hormone is in it!!
Ha ha ha.
Everywhere I look lately there is a pregnant women.
At work... pregnant women both patients and co-workers
At home... pregnant women (neighbors- NOT ME!)
With friends and family... pregnant women.
Up to this point it was just at work but now they are EVERYWHERE!

Now I currently have 6 friends or family members who are pregnant!!!
This is so CRAZY to me that I am still a little in shock.

I went out to a dinner with friends from work the other night and I being one of the only providers who did not have a baby under 2... this is when it hit me!
I played with a 2 year old,
fed a 6 month hold,
held a 2 month old,
and talked to my other co-work about her soon to be birth.
Babies are taking over!!!!

All joking aside- Congrats to everyone who is expecting a little bundle!
I do think pregnancy in amazing
and love that I get to work with women everyday pregnant or not pregnant.

I wish three things for you:
1) An easy and healthy pregnancy
2) An easy and healthy delivery
3) A long and happy life for your soon to be family

However as advice, if pregnancy is not on your plan.... I would not drink the water =0)

Running thru life... Goodbye to Hotmail

With my new Ipad I was inspired to say goodbye to my hotmail account,
close one of my gmail accounts
and streamline everything to one email account.
This has been a work in process.

Up to this point I had my hotmail account I used for everything,
a gmail account I used for professional matters,
and another gmail account I used for junk.
It is just too much.
So something had to go!

My hotmail I created my second year in college- ahhhh flashbacks.
It has been good to me but my dgclemsonqt@hotmail.com name is outgrowing me.
While I totally still am a DG (delta gamma), love everything Clemson- come on I named my dog Clemson, and am still a QT (at least that is what my husband tell me) it is not really the best email to use when trying to be professional.  My hotmail account is linked to everything from my kodak galleries to amazon.  I closed my amazon account, changed the email on my kodak galleries, etc.  Finally, last night I closed my hotmail.

It was kind of an emotional moment for me...
My husband's answer so cute was "You will always be dgclemsonqt to me!"

So now it is Oliveriacnm@gmail.com
I guess we all have to grow up, even our emails.

Running thru life... Goodbye Netbook, Hello Ipad

More than a year and a half ago I purchased a netbook because my labtop died after using it all thru college and gradschool.
It was good to me!
So Joe and I started to look at something to replace it.
I did not want anything fancy since all I really did was internet, bills,  finances,  occassionally some work stuff, music and picture editing.
I really did not want to spend 700+ at the time especially because Joe was going to have to buy a new computer for school and his computer needed to be loaded with special things because of what he uses it for with running programs, etc.
At the time I settled for a netbook.
It seemed a good solution.
We did the research and even played with one at the stores.
Dell had good ratings and  I got a discount as a government worker so we ordered one- about $300.

I did love it at first.
It was small and easy to carry around.
However, it was slow and I could not do more than one thing at a time- like up load itunes and surf the web.
This drove me insane because I love to multitask.
Joe also hated it- often crashed and froze.
So after almost 1 1/2 years of using it- I told Joe I could not any longer.
He agreed because he too hated it.

So after a long discussion we decided two things:
1) I would get a small labtop/tablet that we both would use for main things
2) Joe mega computer would stay in our guest room and he would rework the computer so we both had individual accounts.  This would be in a sense our desktop even though it is a huge labtop!

Joe and I started to look at tablets and were sold on the Ipad.
We played with a couple of our friends and ordered while we were in Greece.
It arrived just in time for my birthday!!!

So over the last week Joe has been helping me move everything on my netbook either to my Ipad or our common computer.   After the netbook is clear I have every intention of selling it on Craigslist as I hate it!!!  URRRRRR!

As for the Ipad- I am in love.
I am still learning to use it but just last night I organized all my picasa photos, uploaded all my spreadsheets, uploaded files to DropBox.  I just need to figure out how to make it more blogging friendly.
I am planning on taking a class to help me learn the Ipad better.  Apple offers free classes so I decided this is something I should do just to give myself more knowlege.  I am good with computers but not amazing.
I will let you know how my first class goes which I have next week.

Any suggestion on Apps?

Running thru life..... A tired puppy is a happy puppy

Since my husband is off from classes this summer, we are both trying to make an effort to do more together- this includes walking Clemson (which up to this point I was doing more and more of because he was always studying or in class).

Over the last two weeks we have established a walking schedule which I have found is not only good for Clemson but also good for us.   This schedule consists of long walks and swimming (Clemson loves to swim).  After almost two weeks of this schedule- I am in heaven... sleep heaven.  Clemson is exhausted!!!

Here is our schedule.....
Saturday- 2-3 mile walk in the morning and swim time; 1-2 miles at night
Sunday- 2-3 mile walk in the morning and swim time; 1-2 miles at night
Monday- 2 miles in the morning by Joe; 2-3 miles in the afternoon by me
Tuesday- 1 miles in the morning by Joe; 3 miles in the afternoon by both of us
Wednesday 1-2 miles in the morning by Joe;  2 miles in the afternoon by both of us
Thursday- Joe is in charge of because this is my L/D day (when I get home I want to do nothing!)
Friday- 2-3 miles in the morning by Joe, short walk at night

So it has been great exercise for Clemson but also for us.  It is also good time to spend together and talk about stuff we need to get done.

Running thru life.... A delicious dinner

With trying to eat out less and use what we have,
my hubby and I have come up with some pretty good meals.
My favorite lately was our Basil Pizza we made.
The dough was purchased from Wegmans and has been in our freezer for over 3 months, tomato sauce left over from a Lasagna that I made a couple months ago (Never opened it),
cheese was left over from having guest over and the basil is from our garden.

We had enough to make two full meals off of it.  =0)
Less cooking for me!

Pair it with some wonderful Mojitos by my hubby and we have a wonderful meal on a Friday night.

Yes these are SAIC glasses (the company my hubby works for).  We have 8 of them that we got at a Christmas party last year.... my husband jokes that his company knows that it drives people to drink =0)

Running thru life....Goodbye Macys

We currently have three credit cards
1) Navy Federal for Everyday purchases
2) USAA  for trips, flights, car rentals, etc
3) Macys

We opened a Macys account more than 3 years ago when we were registering for our wedding because they promised you a certain percentage of what your guest spend back, also we had just bought a house so it made sense.  After our wedding we did get a gift card for close to $300 for all the gift purchases people made.  But over the last year I have done some serious thinking with regards to keeping this card.
Two weekends ago I sate down and analyzed our spending on it over the last year.
Total spending totaled about $400.
We purchased the following
-Couple Christmas presents
-Sheet set for our bed
-Clothes for Joe
-Clinque makeup
-Wedding Gifts

This made me realize how much we do not use it and with the fact that you get coupons from Macy's in the Sunday paper every weekend if we did want to get something their we could just use our Sunday coupon.

So this week I called to cancel our card.
When the customer service rep asked my why, I stated we just do not use it.
His answer... "No you don't."

Even more reason!!!

So goodbye to one more credit card!!!
