Running thru life...... It is worth waiting

Last April while in New York City with my Mom I found a purse that I absolutely in love with.
I have a weakness for purses and shoes.
Normally, I am given purses as gifts so to be honest I have not purchased a purse in 3+ years.
I have 4 purses that I use now and 2 wristlets.
4 might sound like alot to the average person but for me it is not.  I rotate them alot depending on the season and also my outfits if I am in the mood.  I currently have
1 black
1 brown
1 pink
and 1 white
However, I take good care of my purses so they last forever- most of them look like new.

This purse I found at Macy's I was crazy about because
1) it was big (i normally have small purses),
2) it could fit my then netbook, now ipad in it,
3) I loved the material and the look
4) and it was light in weight.

It was a Marc Fischer and I love Marc Fischer- I have three pairs of shoes by him and they are great!!  However, at $90 I was torn.  This was too much for me.

So I waited....
It went on sale at 40% off leaving it at $54 dollars.
Still a little bit more than I wanted to pay but I went to look at it and found out that I recieved and additional 15%  off leaving it at $45.  Then I whipped out an 20% coupon leaving it at $36 dollars.
Then wipped out a $10 gift card I have been saving.
$26 dollars later it was mine
Done and Done!!!!
I am in Love!!

I have used it for now 2 weeks and having been getting compliments on it left and right.
I even took it on our weekend trip to Florida-
I loved it because it fits my wallet, phone, magazines, and ipad.
It was perfect!!!
So sometimes good things come from waiting.

Running thru Life... Car Maintence

My husband know nothing about cars!!!
I love him but he is like a dumb blond when it comes to cars.
I can say this because I am a blond- more like a dirty blond when my hair is not colored- but a blond none the less.  And I have a lot of dumb blond moments =0)
I do not know alot about cars but have picked things up over the years from my brother and my father who are obsessed with cars!

So I was very frustrated when my husband called me last week after taking his Mazda 2008 in for service stating that there was over $500 of work that needed to be done on it.
Of course I asked the following
1)  What?
2)  How bad is it?
Of course he did not ask those questions.
So he called the dealer back and they said it was not something that needed to be done now.

I then found out what the dealer was saying was wrong and called my brother (who is in to cars and also has a mazda).  After a couple minutes on the phone I decided we are going to start looking for a new auto repair shop other than the dealer.  The previous time we took it in they also found a lot of things wrong with it.   The warranty is almost run out which means they are going to start racking up the bill every time we come it.

It does not make sense that my Mercedes Benz which is a 2003 is costing us less to maintain than the Mazda which is a 2008!!!  Especially, considering that I am the one who drives my car hard since I work all the way in Bethesda and Joe works 10 miles from home if even that.

Furthermore, the place I take the Mercedes is a placed over in Dulles.  I really have been happy with the service but it is quite a drive for us- to the point I am going to start looking for someone new to service the mercedes.

Any suggestions on an auto place that does Mazdas or Mercedes?

Running thru Life.... Tarara Winery Summer Concerts

Over three years ago Joe and I attended a Summer Concert at Tarara Winery.
After talking with some friends, we decided we should go again.
So 2 Saturday's ago we headed out with out coolers, blankets, and chairs.

The concert did not start until 6 pm but the gates opened at 5pm.
We got there at 5:30.
We each paid $15 dollars to get in.
We were allowed to bring in whatever we wanted except for alcohol.

We then found a spot in the shade and set up out blankets and headed off to the pavilion to purchase some wine.  The previous time we went three years ago a tasting of all the wines was including with the entrance fee- this is not the case any longer which is sad.  We were allowed to taste anything we were interested in buying so there being 4 of us and only 5 wines to choose from we each selected one and left the one expensive wine out of the picture.  We shared the tastings with each other and quickly decided on what to purchase.

We headed back to our blankets to set up the picnic and listen to some music.
The band playing was Honor by August which actually was entertaining.
They reminded me alot of Pat McGee Band.

All and all it was a very plesant night with good music, good food, good wine and good friends.
